The ideal candidate for these positions will possess a number of qualities that will position them to effectively, efficiently, and creatively provide budget development and financial recommendations for the City of Eugene. Some key characteristics that will ensure success in this role include: Exceptional Analytical Skills Using exceptional analytical skills, the successful candidate for this role will provide analysis and recommendations to support the decisions of policy makers and manage programs. They will apply strong analytical and project management skills to duties such as budget development, ad hoc reporting, and impact or cost analysis. Minimum Qualifications Experience Two (2) years of professional experience in program administration, preferably in the public sector. Six (6) months of supervisory experience is preferred. Education Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in the assigned program area Background Must pass a background check. Supplemental Information Non-Represented Retirement Program Upon eligibility, the City will contribute an employee contribution of 6%, as well as the employer contribution, to a retirement program administered by the Oregon Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS). In addition, the City will pay a 3% contribution to a deferred compensation program if the employee contributes at least 1%. From January 1, 2020, through December 31, 2034, most retirees may work for a PERS-participating employer for an unlimited number of hours while continuing to receive their pension benefit based on HB 2296.
