Financial Analyst

We are working with a client who is looking for a skilled Financial Analyst to join their team in Schenectady, New York. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting strategic financial decisions by providing accurate analysis, performance reporting, and actionable insights. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment, possess strong analytical skills, and excel at interpreting financial data to drive business success. This direct-hire role offers a flexible hybrid schedule after an initial training period.

Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive cost analyses, including standard costing, variance analysis, and margin evaluation. Develop and oversee budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans to support organizational goals. Prepare detailed reports and actionable insights on financial performance for senior management. Collaborate with operational teams and leadership to identify cost drivers and recommend strategies to enhance profitability. Support the month-end close process by comparing actual financial data against budget and forecast projections. Perform ad hoc financial analyses to address specific business questions and challenges. Leverage data mining techniques to identify trends and opportunities within financial data. Assist in the refinement of financial models to improve forecasting accuracy and decision-making. Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure financial strategies align with overall business objectives.

Salary Range:

$60,000 - $80,000 Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a closely related field. A minimum of 2 years of experience in financial analysis, with an emphasis on cost accounting preferred. Proficiency in advanced Excel functions and financial modeling techniques. Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data. Strong communication abilities to effectively collaborate with teams and present findings. Experience with data mining tools and techniques for extracting relevant insights. Solid understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Ability to work independently while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
