OVERVIEW OF THE FINANCIAL ANALYST
Motus Recruiting and Staffing is proud to partner with Relay Resources in the search for a Financial Analyst. This role is responsible for supporting the organization's budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, pricing analysis, and strategic financial planning efforts. Partnering closely with the Director of Finance and operational leaders across the organization, this position will help translate complex financial data into actionable business insights that support strategic and operational decision-making. The ideal candidate brings a strong FP&A or strategic finance background, enjoys working cross-functionally with non-finance stakeholders, and has a natural curiosity for understanding what the data is telling them. This role is ideal for a highly analytical and collaborative finance professional looking to grow into a future FP&A Manager role within a mission-driven organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Financial Planning & Budgeting Support the annual budgeting process, partnering with department leaders to gather inputs and validate assumptions. Prepare quarterly forecasts and conduct scenario modeling. Maintain and improve budget templates, planning tools, and reporting dashboards. Financial Analysis & Reporting Perform pricing, costing, and contribution margin analysis to support operational and strategic initiatives. Analyze project-level and departmental P&Ls to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement. Translate complex financial data into clear, actionable recommendations for leadership and operational stakeholders. Cross-Functional Business Support Partner closely with operational leaders to better understand business drivers, challenges, and opportunities across the organization. Support non-finance stakeholders by clearly communicating financial concepts, trends, and recommendations in an approachable and collaborative manner. Systems & Process Improvement Contribute to ongoing enhancements in reporting systems and financial workflows. Assist in ERP/reporting tool optimization and data integrity efforts (e.g., NetSuite, Abila). Other Assist with monthly and quarterly financial presentations and board reporting as needed. Support financial audits and ensure GAAP-compliant reporting standards are upheld.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. 4-6 years of experience in FP&A, strategic finance, corporate finance, senior accounting, or business analysis. Demonstrated experience supporting organization-wide budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes. Experience with pricing analysis, costing methodologies, and contribution margin analysis. Experience analyzing project-level or departmental P&Ls and translating findings into actionable business insights. Strong financial modeling and advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and model-building. Familiarity with ERP and reporting systems, with preference for tools such as NetSuite, Abila MIP, Sage, Dynamics, Prophix, Tableau, or Power BI. Ability to work independently while building strong cross-functional partnerships across operations, HR, and leadership teams. Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain financial concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Service industry and/or nonprofit experience preferred. Exposure to NSAW environments or related operational models is a plus. Experience using business intelligence and visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI. Demonstrated ability to communicate financial insights in a thoughtful, collaborative, and solutions-oriented manner. Connection to or experience supporting the disability community highly valued.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Advanced Excel and financial modeling capabilities. Strong analytical mindset with the ability to identify trends, risks, and operational insights from financial data. Knowledge of financial reporting standards and GAAP. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
