Position Summary
POSTING FOR UNMC EMPLOYEES ONLY
Participate as a team member in a wide variety of analyses and projects with the goal of operational efficiencies and improved compliance. MMI is looking for creative, curious, and flexible financial and/or budget analysts who thrive on a wide variety of challenges and responsibilities including: analysis of financial data including both budget and revenue/expenditure data; reviewing, documenting and improving processes, procedures and systems; extracting, organizing, and analyzing financial data from various databases; creating a wide variety of routine reports; perform routine and moderately complex accounting activities utilizing generally accepted accounting principles and auditing practices; maintain cost center and WBS accounts; perform cost allocation calculations, and meeting with a variety of MMI directors/customers to determine the causes of variances and explore possible solutions.

Required Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1. Familiarity with understanding accounting, budgeting and operation analysis principles and practices; experience with accounting and budget systems; and the ability to communicate and work effectively with a wide variety of campus users of financial and budget information. 2. Ability to learn data mining skills/techniques using various database systems. This includes willingness to develop in expertise in both elaborate Access Database and Excel skills, and "mining" and exporting data from warehouse environments and maintaining new databases. 3. Analytical skills with an aptitude towards process improvements in all work areas. Accurate decision making and ability to perform calmly within limited time frames. 4. Ability to communicate results and concepts clearly and concisely in oral and written formats, including effectively illustrating technical points. 5. High level of enthusiasm both for learning new job skills and for working on a wide variety of projects. Problem solver, curious, self-starter, enjoy new challenges and learning new methods and skills, highly flexible, must be able to juggle a variety of projects and priorities 6. Ability to identify and prioritize tasks, to carry out assignments from start to finish, and ability to promptly ask for help when stuck on a project. 7. Willingness and ability to learn to present technical information to MMI staff using formal presentations. Training/coaching available to enhance presentation skills. 8. Must enjoy working as team member and have interpersonal skills, including the willingness to effectively deal with conflict in the workplace. 9.
