Financial/Cost Analyst (Hybrid)

SUMMARY:

This position is a member of the accounting team that is responsible for the overall integrity, reporting and timeliness of all cost accounting data that populates the SAP General Ledger system, along with records used to support that system. Applies principles of accounting and finance to identify trends relating to product costing, plant performance and product profitability using data gathered from the SAP system and other company sources. Turns data into information and communicates out to other facets of the business to identify successes and opportunities. This position requires at least two days onsite each week.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Supports programs that ensure overall costs are understood and clearly communicated within the Business. Partners with the Cost Accounting Manager and other team member(s) to complete the month-end close process and prepares and distributes corresponding financial reporting. Exhibits high-level time management, prioritization, and communication skills to focus on completing work in a manner that meets the needs of internal and external business partners. Responsible for various transactional data compilation and reporting - identifying trends and improvement opportunities. Assists in administration/oversight of cycle count programs and inventory control Assists in profitability-matrix creation and analysis, enabling customer-level performance analyses. Works with Supply Chain group to monitor raw material costs and the impact to overall product costing Serves as a key point of contact and plays a proactive role in the timely and accurate completion of annual financial audit documents and responses. Identifies, captures, and documents departmental processes and workflows. Completes special projects, analysis, data interpretation, and forecasting. Interfaces with SAP ERP system in support of the Business. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required

Experience:

2-4 years of financial analysis or cost accounting preferred, with progressive levels of work responsibilities and observed (or described) performance. Experience delegating work to and training staff recommended. Familiarity with standard costing and variance reporting in a manufacturing environment a plus.

Skills:

Strong written and oral communication skills. Proficiency with ERP, Microsoft Office Applications (SAP experience preferred) High integrity while dealing with confidential information Detail oriented

RELATIONSHIPS

Reports to the Cost Accounting Manager Works closely with Cost Analyst along with the Cost Accounting Manager, to help balance department workloads and efficiently complete tasks. Works closely with other members of the finance and manufacturing departments
