This role does not require candidates to already be experienced investment managers. However, it requires strong financial statement analysis skills, solid data analysis capabilities, rigorous logical reasoning, and the ability to remain objective, patient, and disciplined during market volatility. This position is primarily focused on internal investment research and decision support and does not involve providing investment advice to external clients. Key Responsibilities
- Analyzing publicly listed companies by reviewing income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements to assess profitability, cash flow quality, capital structure, and key financial ratios (e.g., debt-to-equity, debt-to-assets, liquidity metrics).
- Collecting, organizing, and maintaining financial data across company-level, industry-level, and macroeconomic sources, supporting the development of real-time financial dashboards for monitoring key indicators.
- Building and supporting financial valuation models, including discounted cash flow (DCF), comparable company analysis (comps), forecasting models, and scenario-based analysis to evaluate investment opportunities.
- Tracking company earnings, industry trends, regulatory updates, and major market developments; producing concise research summaries to support investment decision-making.
- Developing and maintaining investment watchlists, incorporating valuation metrics, growth indicators, earnings quality, balance sheet strength, cash flow trends, and risk factors.
- Utilizing statistical and analytical tools to extract, clean, and analyze financial data, applying descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics to generate actionable investment insights.
- Conducting independent research with minimal supervision, demonstrating strong analytical, financial modeling, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Evaluating prior investment decisions by comparing original assumptions with actual outcomes, refining analytical frameworks and improving research accuracy over time.
- Supporting internal corporate finance functions, including budgeting, cash flow tracking, expense analysis, operational data organization, and management reporting.
- Developing and maintaining Python-based tools and scripts for portfolio construction, statistical analysis, data automation, and investment workflow optimization.
Requirements 1. Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or related fields. 2. Ability to understand financial statements and interpret key metrics such as revenue, gross margin, operating profit, free cash flow, debt, inventory, accounts receivable, and capital expenditures. 3. Proficient in Excel, with the ability to independently build basic financial models, organize datasets, create pivot tables, charts, and use common formulas. 4. Experience with Python, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Bloomberg, FactSet, QuickBooks, or other financial/data tools is a plus. 5. Strong interest in equity markets, company research, industry analysis, valuation methods, and investment logic. 6. Strong English reading ability, capable of reading financial reports, regulatory filings, investor presentations, news, and research materials. 7. Bilingual proficiency in English and Chinese. 8. CFA, CPA, FRM, or candidates currently pursuing these certifications are preferred but not required. 9. Open to recent graduates; 1-3 years of experience in financial analysis, investment research, data analysis, accounting, auditing, corporate finance, or asset management is preferred. 10. Experience with Python data analysis, public data set processing, financial database work, or automation reporting. 3. Familiarity with U.S., Hong Kong, Mainland China, or ETF markets. 4. Experience in auditing, accounting, financial analysis, investment research internships, brokerage firms, funds, family offices, or corporate strategy roles. 5. Interest in industries such as semiconductors, consumer goods, e-commerce, manufacturing, auto parts, industrial goods, or technology companies.
