Job Description

Senior Financial Analyst Our client, a leading international $350 million global provider of advanced, high precision metal-cutting machine tool solutions and aftermarket tooling and accessories, is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst in the Traverse City, Michigan area. With over 130 years of rich history in producing high-quality precision machining solutions, the company is currently in a growth mode with several recent acquisitions. As an international company, it has locations in the US, Europe, and Asia. We are looking for an ideal candidate with experience in financial reporting, analysis, and forecasting. The successful candidate will possess strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Responsibilities:
Lead the preparation and review of monthly financial and operating reporting packages and commentary for Monthly Business Reviews (MBR) with corporate executive management. Prepare the annual operating plan (AOP). Work closely with management and key departmental leads in developing and updating rolling forecasts, building and improving forecasting models to enhance accuracy. Drive management reporting and analysis to ensure understanding and maximization of customer and product profitability, as well as ensure efficient operations in manufacturing. Review and manage revisions to cost accounting to ensure accurate and current costing information. Produce financial reports and data requests to comply with all established Corporate financial deadlines.
Qualifications:
B.S./B.A.
Degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA designation (or local country equivalent if not US) or MBA degree preferred. Minimum 5 years of working experience in a corporate finance function in mid to large-sized businesses (revenues > $20 million). Prior experience working for a regional or global accounting firm (Big 4) preferred. Highly analytical and driven to prepare and analyze financial reports, data sets, and models. Foundational level understanding of US GAAP Accounting principles. Proven knowledge of working with cost accounting methodologies and practices. Adept and comfortable presenting to high-level members within the organization. Demonstrated interpersonal skills to work productively across functional departments onsite as well as with peers at affiliate companies and Corporate Finance.
