Accounting Analyst Summerville, SC
  • Accounting Job Type Full-time Description Job Purpose We are looking for an Accounting Analyst who will support our finance team by executing core accounting functions—accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and inventory analysis.

  • Own and champion small, high-impact projects that demonstrate how AI and modern tools can improve financial accuracy and efficiency. Essential Duties and Responsibilities This list is not all-inclusive and may be expanded as management deems necessary. Core Accounting Functions
  • Process and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and on time
  • Prepare and post monthly journal entries to the general ledger
  • Reconcile assigned monthly balance sheet accounts and investigate variances
  • Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies; research and resolve issues promptly
  • Support preparation of financial reports including financial statements and budget performance summaries
  • Interpret and apply accounting policies, rules, and regulations to ensure compliance with applicable standards
  • Contact customers and vendors as needed to ensure accurate and timely payments
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and special projects as required Automation & Process Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to apply AI, machine learning, and automation to routine accounts tasks and suggest opportunities to streamline or improve existing processes
  • Use available technology tools—including Excel, ERP features, and productivity software—to work more efficiently and reduce errors
  • Build and maintain Excel-based reports and dashboards; use formulas, pivot tables, and data tools to support analysis and decision-making
  • Partner with the Controller on process improvement initiatives across the Accounting department
  • Document updated procedures and SOPs when workflows change or improve
  • Support ERP (NetSuite) optimization efforts and assist with testing new features or system improvements Collaboration & Communication
  • Work collaboratively across departments (Operations, Purchasing, Sales) to ensure accurate financial data flow
  • Communicate process changes and tool updates clearly to team members
  • Handle confidential and proprietary financial information with integrity and discretion Requirements Qualifications, Education & Experience
  • Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience will be considered
  • 1-3 years of accounting experience in a corporate or wholesale/distribution environment
  • Interest or experience in AI and automation is highly desirable. Technical Skills
  • Proficient to advance in Microsoft Office, with strong Excel skills (advanced formulas, pivot tables, Power Query, and data visualization)
  • Openness to learning and adopting new technology and productivity tools as the company evolves its processes
  • Experience with ERP systems required; NetSuite experience strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with workflow automation or process improvement tools is a plus
  • Interest in leveraging AI-driven productivity and financial automation tools, including platforms such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, and AI-assisted AP/AR or invoice processing systems, to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting workflows.
