As the only independent and physician-led faculty practice plan of the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, University Clinical Health (UCH) offers best-in-class clinical care through a network of 175+ providers across 19 specialties to meet the healthcare needs of the Mid-South community. Position Summary:
The Financial/Operations Analyst assists in identifying opportunities to increase revenue, reduce operating expenses and improve profitability in the organization. The analyst will work closely with the administration to evaluate and strategize business planning and opportunities based on financial and operational analyses. The Financial Analyst provides divisional analysis and support and the development of business plans, workflow analyses, and operating metrics for each division. In addition, it is responsible for report writing, analysis, and maintenance for physician compensation modeling and incentive compensation calculations. Key Results Areas (KRAs): Support all levels of decision-makers and other stakeholders with financial information requests and financial modelling Obtain a thorough understanding of clinical department operations by providing financial insight into process improvement projects and through recurring interaction with operational teams Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and other financial reporting processes and review Departmental budget variances in monthly MOR meetings Analyze complex financial information/reports for performance, trends, and variances Consolidate data from EPIC platform, UCH's BI tools, other financial systems, and third-party data sources (MGMA, AAMC, etc) to build models to help clinical, operational and Corporate leaders make data-driven decisions Monitor and continually improve BI softeware tools, dashboard reporting, and other information tools Collaborate with the Finance, Accounting, Revenue Services teams and all Operational areas Model potential business development opportunities Provide insight and recommendations for cost-saving procedural changes Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual physician payouts and other provider compensation changes for payroll processing Core Competencies Advanced business acumen that includes financial modeling, financial statement analysis, and project Return on Investment (ROI) Able to navigate intricate and ambiguous data with an accurate and structured problem-solving approach Demonstrates a high level of initiative, innovation, and collaboration Works effectively in teams and autonomously in a fast-paced environment Flexible and adept at re-prioritizing projects Strong time management, organizational, and communication skills Committed to supporting UCH's standard to medical excellence
Requirements:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Public Health, or a related field required Master's of Business Administration (MBA), Public Health, Economics, or Healthcare Administration preferred 5+ years professional experience in corporate finance required; healthcare background strongly preferred Previous work experience in statistical and data analytics required, preferably in healthcare Expert in MS Excel, relevant accounting software platforms, and business intelligence tools; prior experience in relational databases a plus Advanced in other MS Office applications (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
