Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Estimating and Finance Analyst to join our team. This pivotal role combines rigorous financial analysis with strategic estimating to support our projects and business growth. As an integral part of our finance department, you will leverage your expertise in accounting principles, financial reporting, and cost analysis to drive informed decision-making. Your proactive approach and strong organizational skills will ensure accurate forecasting, budgeting, and compliance with regulatory standards, empowering our organization to achieve operational excellence and financial success. Duties Support preparation and review of detailed construction cost estimates Validate labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor pricing Review Bills of Materials (BOMs) for accuracy and completeness Support RSMeans‑based pricing and cost benchmarking Coordinate with Estimating and Project Management during bid and award stages Support estimate‑to‑project financial handoff to Accounting Assist with budget setup, cost tracking, and margin validation Review subcontractor proposals for completeness and alignment with scope Maintain organized estimating and financial documentation Support audits and internal reviews related to estimates and budgets Qualifications 3-5+ years of experience in construction estimating, cost analysis, or finance/accounting Experience supporting construction bids, budgets, or project cost controls Familiarity with federal, public, or commercial construction pricing preferred Experience with RSMeans or structured cost databases preferred Strong Excel‑based cost modeling and analysis experience Proven experience in corporate accounting, public accounting, or financial analysis roles with a focus on estimating or cost accounting. Demonstrated expertise in financial concepts including profit & loss management, budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning. Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently under tight deadlines. Strong communication skills for clear report writing and presenting complex financial data to diverse audiences. Disqualifiers No experience supporting construction estimating or cost analysis No experience working with budgets, BOMs, or financial data Weak documentation, organization, or follow‑through Resistance to structured processes, reviews, and approvals Inability to work onsite and collaborate with Estimating and Accounting teams Technical & Financial Skills Construction cost estimating and cost analysis Budget development, validation, and margin analysis Bill of Materials (BOM) review and reconciliation Labor, material, and subcontractor cost evaluation RSMeans or structured cost databases (preferred) Strong Excel skills for cost modeling, variance analysis, and reporting Ability to analyze drawings, specifications, and scopes for cost impact Understanding of estimate‑to‑project and estimate‑to‑accounting handoff Hiring Company Description ACG is a fast‑growing, family‑minded small business built on ownership, discipline, and results.
