Job Description

Maintain fund balances and authorize expenditures for various departmental funds. Work independently on the maintenance of these funds under the direction of the Business Manager, Tarrant County Auditor's Office, and the Department of State Health Services, Health Resources and Services Administration and the Department of Family and Protective Services. Authorizes, maintains, follows up and coordinates the departmental purchasing functions. Ensures the maintenance of all fund expenditures and up-to-date balances are maintained for several divisions. Researches, analyzes, and assists divisions with setup and close out of annual budget encumbrances. Administers and submits bimonthly revenue reports for departmental daily deposits of the Health Department revenue accounts. Assists with the budget forecasts for all funds. Ensures correct purchasing, audit and financial procedures are followed on all expenditures. Assists with requested documents and information for internal and external auditors. Communicates and maintains good working relationships with other divisions, departments, and outside vendors. Performs all other related duties involved in the operation of the Public Health Department as assigned or required. Bachelor's degree or equivalent and four (4) years of experience in detailed multiple fund ledgers, spreadsheets, purchasing, and/or monthly billing. Must have computer experience, preferably with SAP, and 10-key by touch. Experience in governmental procurement procedures, accounting, Medicaid, and/or third-party reimbursement is highly desirable. While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent must be able to drive a vehicle, read numbers close up and sit for periods of time at a PC.
