Role Mission The mission of the Junior Investment Analyst is to support the CIO and investment team by producing rigorous, well-documented investment research, portfolio analytics, and monitoring insights that enhance the quality, consistency, and decision-readiness of Accuvest's investment strategies, with particular emphasis on the Alpha Brands equity portfolios. Role Scope & Governance This is a junior, supporting investment role. The Junior Investment Analyst is responsible for preparing research, analysis, models, and proposed recommendations for supervisory review. Final investment decisions, including portfolio allocations, security selection, trade implementation, and model changes, remain the responsibility of the CIO, and the Investment Committee in accordance with Accuvest governance and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities Investment Research & Analysis:
  • Conduct ETF and mutual fund research (objectives, structures, methodologies, factor exposures, holdings, and risk characteristics).
  • Assist in fundamental equity research focused on business models, competitive advantages, financial quality, cash-flow generation, and valuation.
  • Perform macroeconomic, thematic, and sector research to support portfolio positioning and risk assessment.
  • Monitor market, sector, and company-specific developments relevant to existing or prospective holdings and summarize implications. Portfolio & Model Support (Non-Discretionary):
  • Prepare portfolio performance, attribution, exposure, and risk analytics for regular investment reviews.
  • In conjunction with the Investment Team, maintain and enhance macro risk dashboard.
  • Support portfolio rebalance and allocation discussions by preparing scenarios, stress tests, and trade rationale materials.
  • Maintain research inputs, monitoring dashboards & watchlists in Koyfin, and documentation underlying equity and fixed income model portfolios.
  • Prepare draft model updates and documentation for review and approval by senior investment leadership.
Alpha Brands Strategy Support:
  • Support security screening and ongoing monitoring for Alpha Brands equity strategies.
  • Evaluate companies through the Alpha Brands framework, focusing on global household consumption, brand strength, and capital efficiency.
  • Maintain and continuously improve internal Alpha Brands research files, screening tools, and documentation standards.
  • Create & maintain ongoing consumer spending datapoints via the creation of a consumer spending dashboard, that helps inform stock selection.
Qualifications Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Strong interest in investment management and capital markets.
  • Sound understanding of equities, fixed income, ETFs, and valuation concepts.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and Excel modeling skills.
  • Comfort leveraging AI tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT) responsibly to improve productivity.
  • Proficiency using Bloomberg terminal for all Accuvest portfolios.
Preferred:
  • 3-5 years of experience in investment research, asset management, or wealth management.
  • Experience with portfolio analytics, factor investing, or macro research frameworks.
  • Demonstrated use of AI tools in financial analysis or research workflows.
