This individual will play a lead role in translating complex operational and financial data into actionable insights, improving processes, and supporting strategic decision-making across the mill. Smurfit WestRock :
Partner with operations and mill leadership to identify cost drivers, performance gaps, and process bottlenecks, translating operational data into financial insights that support strategic and executive decision-making. Lead the development of reliable cost and statistical performance reporting, enabling benchmarking, trend analysis, forecasting, and predictive modeling across mill operations. Design and enhance reporting tools, templates, dashboards, and workflows to drive transparency, improve decision speed, and support more proactive business management across Finance and Operations. Drive continuous improvement by developing and documenting processes, procedures, and controls that improve the quality of financial analysis and strengthen accountability for results. Own key aspects of the monthly close process by analyzing results, preparing journal entries and statistical postings, and providing clear explanations of variances and business drivers. Play a significant role in the budget, forecast, and long-range planning processes by developing analyses, identifying risks and opportunities, and supporting recommendations to leadership. Develop, maintain, and strengthen documentation of internal controls and key financial processes applicable to assigned functional areas, ensuring compliance and consistency. What you need to succeed : Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Advanced skills in Excel, Hyperion SmartView experience a plus. Proficient user of Alteryx, Power BI, Qlik a plus. Detailed oriented team player who can consistently meet deadlines, adapt quickly, work well with all levels of the organization and possess the ability to work independently as needed.
