Job Description
Candidate MUST be U.S. Citizen due to client work with D.O.D. contracts. Job offer is contingent on successful passing background and drug screen. MUST have Cost Accounting experience. Specific experience required to evaluate when interviewing candidates: Ability to prepare and explain monthly financial statements and variance analysis to management Strong GL analysis skills: able to dig into details, identify anomalies, and find the root cause Comfortable working on-site in a plant environment and interacting directly with operations, production, purchasing, shipping, and plant management Strong Excel skills and ability to work with manual files, reconciliations, pivots/lookups, and ERP exports Ability to learn a new ERP quickly; Strong communication skills, especially the ability to explain accounting issues clearly to non-accounting people Stable career history and genuine long-term interest in the role Process improvement mindset, but with the judgment to first understand and maintain the current process before changing it End‑to‑end ownership of accounting operations: AP, AR, payroll, close, reconciliations, audits, and tax filings Strong in month‑end close Lender reporting Cash flow analysis Audit and tax coordination Manages accounting teams Deep manufacturing cost accounting experience: Inventory, COGS, BOMs, and reconciliations Very hands‑on and detail‑oriented
