QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field from an AASCB accredited college or university. (MBA preferred) Documented experience with comprehensive knowledge of double entry accounting systems, payroll and accounts payable procedures preferred Expertise in technology and related software programs including Next Gen Knowledge of governmental accounting requirements including local school finance, audit process, federal and state regulations related to federal programs and Medicaid reimbursement Effective organizational and communication skills Approved background check conducted by Fieldprint
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provides daily support for the Chief School Financial Officer (CSFO) in management of the annual budget, payroll, local school accounting, investments, and purchasing. 2. Assists in the preparation of all annual requirements including indirect cost, pass-through calculations, budget preparation and amendments. 3. Assists with journal entries for proper financial reporting purposes and ensures all transactions are timely and accurately recorded for preparation of financial statements. 4. Assists with the receipt and disbursement of funds and the coordination of monthly reconciliation of Central Office bank accounts according to approved policies and procedures. 5. Provides oversight of all financial data for local schools and consults with local school staff to ensure procedures are followed and that transactions are interfaced accurately into the general ledger accounting system. 6. Works closely with Central Office Coordinators to manage budgets, grants, and allowable uses of funds. 7. Assists Federal Program Coordinator with budgets and program application; provides governance for federal funds according to federal and state requirements. 8. Assists Special Education Coordinator with budgets, program application, and Medicaid reimbursement; provides governance for federal funds according to federal and state requirements. 9. Assists coordinator in maintaining special education budgets and completes appropriate budget amendments as needed. 10. Completes budget changes in the SDE computer system and issues monthly request to SDE for federal funds (ES2). 11. Utilize computer software Next Gen and other software applications required to improve efficiency. 12. Assist with maintaining an adequate system of internal controls including property and inventory accounting. 13. Assist with maintaining sound protocols and procedures for cash management. 14. Assists with planning and presenting budget, financial and procedural workshops for systemwide personnel. 15. Assist with federal, state, and local audits including internal audits. 16. Prepare and respond to inquiries and concerns from outside agencies in a timely manner. 17. Assist with compiling information for the Office Of Public Examiners. 18. Monitor bid documents including notices, instructions, specifications and proposals. 19. Understand the time management system utilized by the district and be able to troubleshoot issues. 20. Utilize effective organizational and communication skills daily in all job responsibilities. 21. Perform other duties assigned by the Chief School Financial Office and/or Superintendent.
EVALUATION
Performance will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy of support and staff evaluation.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Twelve Months. Salary to be established by the Board.
