This is a key hire within the finance team, supporting inventory accuracy, cost accounting, and financial reporting in a fast-paced production environment. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in manufacturing accounting combined with hands-on experience managing inventory and month-end close processes. Cost Controller - Key Responsibilities Lead inventory accounting activities, including costing, valuation, and related journal entries Oversee month-end close responsibilities tied to inventory, including reconciliations, cost of goods sold analysis, and revenue tie-outs Analyze raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods balances to ensure accuracy and proper valuation Partner with operations and finance teams to maintain clean and reliable inventory data within the ERP system Monitor and investigate discrepancies, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions Support financial reporting through detailed analysis of sales, margins, and cost trends Supervise and mentor cost accounting staff, providing guidance on best practices and accuracy standards Manage and support physical inventory counts, cycle counts, and reconciliation to the general ledger Assist with internal and external audit requests by preparing supporting schedules and documentation Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve reporting, and strengthen internal controls Contribute to special projects and ad hoc financial analysis as requested by leadership Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 10+ years of experience in accounting, with a strong emphasis on inventory or cost accounting within a manufacturing environment Deep understanding of cost accounting principles, including standard costing, inventory valuation, and COGS analysis Hands-on experience with month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations ERP system experience (manufacturing systems preferred; Epicor is a plus) Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyze and manipulate large data sets Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving ability Proven ability to work cross-functionally with operations, purchasing, and finance teams Prior leadership or supervisory experience is a plus CPA, CMA, or similar certification preferred but not required Benefit offerings include medical, dental, vision, term life and AD&D insurance, short-term and long-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, commuter benefits, wellness plans, and a 401k plan or a non-qualified deferred compensation plan. Pay Details:
