Job Description

Position Overview:
Under general supervision of the Chief Financial Officer, the Accounting Manager coordinates all aspects of the company's accounting functions. Perform analytical and technical duties in support of all accounting and GAAP and IFRS requirements. Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information. This is all performed while verifying the integrity and accuracy of financial operations, safeguarding organizational assets, and developing efficient business processes. The accounting manager is also responsible for overseeing processes as it relates to financial reporting, capital budgeting, leading strategic planning for accounting policies and maintaining internal controls over financial transactions. This position supervises the entire finance team including the Staff Accountants, Accounts Payable positions and Administration Assistant. Directs accounting activities, provides specialized accounting support, and serves as the accounting expert for the organization. Assists with accounting processes such as general ledger maintenance, treasury/banking accounting, fixed asset accounting, cost allocations accounting, accounts payable management, and consolidation reporting.
Essential Activities:
Coordinates various accounting functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash and treasury management, and general accounting. Reviews and supervises monthly reconciliation of general ledger accounts and leads the closing of financial records on a monthly/annual basis. Manages the finance team, reviews and manages the workflow processes, conducts employee training, sets goals, and performs annual appraisals as team leader. Reviews and maintains Financial Institutions transactions and requirements. Administrator for all Financial Institutions. Lead contact and facilitator of external auditors. Leads the development of the accounting budget and provides support to budget managers. Evaluates and makes appropriate improvements to internal accounting processes ensuring that practices are in line with the overall goals of the organization. Reviews recommendations for improvements to the accounting software, modules, and processes. Responsible for accuracy of Commercial Inventory. Manage data so it corresponds with Business Intelligence reporting and ties out to General Ledger. Find anomalies, patterns, and correlations with inventory data sets for errors and correct them. Examples are margins, posting groups, and cost corrections. Key User for all ERP applications. Implements and writes procedures for ERP tasks and protocols for all departments, Sales, Warehouse and Accounting. Participate in policy development as a member of the Key User/Leadership team.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, in Accounting or Financial Management is required. Master's Degree in a similar field or related field is preferred. C.P.A.
  • California Certified Public Accountant license, valid and in good standing is preferred.
Valid California drivers license Work Experience 7-9 years experience working in an accounting or financial management role. 7-9 years of experience in a lead management position, preferably within an accounting firm or a related business environment 3-5 years proficiency in relevant accounting software and applications.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Ability to work effectively and independently and exercise sound judgment and discretion. Ability to accurately work with large amounts of financial and accounting data. Ability to be a member of a team-oriented staff. Good planning and organizational skills. Strong knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and tax regulations Knowledge of MS Excel and MS applications. Project management skills in development, coordination, and management of project plans. Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Travel Requirements:
The ability and readiness with planned notice is a requirement of this position. Expect +
