Purpose:
Manage and coordinate all aspects related to Continental Labor & Staffing Resources accounting activities.
Job Duties and Essential Responsibilities:
Responsible for the preparation and distribution of financial statements and managing daily accounting functions. Additionally, ensures all financial transactions are accurate and compliant with GAAP standards, payroll tax regulations, and company policies.
ACCOUNTING
Responsible for accounting operations across multiple company FEINs ensuring proper financial separation, reporting accuracy, and regulatory compliance. Manage payroll processes including payroll deductions such as employee benefits, 401(k) contributions, garnishments, payroll taxes, and other required deductions. Oversee Accounts Receivable and invoicing functions including consumer billing, invoice accuracy, collections, and aging reports. Oversee Accounts Payable functions including vendor payments, expense management, approval workflows, and vendor relationships. Maintain vendor records including W-9 documentation and compliance requirements. Perform and review bank reconciliations and balance sheet account reconciliations including payroll, benefits, tax liabilities, and receivables.
PAYROLL TAX COMPLIANCE
(MULTIPLE FEINs) Responsible for payroll tax compliance across multiple FEINs ensuring accuracy. Responsible for preparation, review, and coordination of payroll tax filings including: Form 941•Quarterly Federal Tax Returns Form 940•Federal Unemployment Tax Returns

•California EDD Payroll Tax Filings Ensure timely completion of all quarterly and annual payroll tax filing requirements. Oversee payroll tax notices and agency correspondence and ensure timely research and resolution.
FINANCIAL REPORTING
Prepare financial reports: Create and update financial records and reports, including quarterly reports and consolidated financial statements Ensure compliance: Responsible for the integrity of company accounting practices and financial reporting systems. Ensure reports are accurate and comply with laws, regulations, accounting GAAP standards and company policies.
Manage relationships:
Work with the accounting department, legal team, and external auditors to ensure accuracy in company practices and procedures related to all accounting functions.
Provide financial guidance:
Offer insights to support strategic decision-making budgeting, forecasting, and analyzing financial data to support business decisions Develop accounting policies: Create and maintain accounting principles and best practices, ensuring all accounting SOPs are aligned with regulations and company practices.
Review operating procedures:
Check for potential hazards or breaches of conduct.
Communicate with regulators:
Manage communications with auditors, regulators, and other shareholders to identify trends and provide recommendations for financial growth.
YEAR-END REPORTING & CORPORATE TAX PREPARATION
Responsible for all Year-End Reporting including W2, /W3, 1099, 1094/1095 and 5500 Filling Responsible for gathering and submitting financial information to CPA for corporate federal and state tax filings. Ensure compliance with all financial, Tax and payroll regulatory requirements.
MANAGEMENT OF DEPARTMENT EMPLOYEES
Responsible jointly with the HR Department for recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, development and terminations of accounting department employees. Responsible for professional development of staff through coaching, training, corrective action, and performance evaluations. Responsible for coordinating, directing and assigning job duties and monitoring department workload. Promote accountability, teamwork, and strong internal service support to company departments.
DEPARTMENT PROCEDURES AND SYSTEMS
Responsible for developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) for all accounting procedures and processes. Identify opportunities for process improvement and implementation of efficient workflows. Support implementation and optimization of accounting and payroll systems. Analyze accounting processes and data integrity within company systems. Ensure accounting processes comply with department procedures and state and federal regulations. Promote continuous improvement and process consistency.
REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education and Experience:
Knowledge of:
Accounting principles and financial reporting practices General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Payroll administration practices Payroll tax regulations and reporting requirements Federal and California wage and hour laws Financial operations and budgeting principles Accounting internal controls Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint Accounting and payroll systems (QuickBooks experience strongly preferred) Leadership and employee development practices Customer service and internal department support practices

Education:
Graduate from a recognized college or university with a B.S. or B.A. in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field preferred. CPA or advanced accounting certification preferred but not required. Equivalent experience may be considered.
Experience:
Minimum five (5) years of progressive accounting experience. Minimum three (3) years supervisory or leadership experience preferred. Previous Accounting Manager experience preferred. Experience with payroll tax reporting and year-end compliance required.
