Full-Time Mortgage Underwriting Manager (Non-QM) - Lead a High-Performing Team We are seeking an experienced Mortgage Underwriting Manager with strong Non-QM expertise to lead our underwriting team in Brea, CA. This is a key leadership role responsible for managing underwriting operations, driving loan quality, and ensuring efficient turn times in a fast-growing Non-QM mortgage environment. Bilingual candidates (Korean, Chinese, or Vietnamese) are preferred due to our diverse client base and ongoing borrower communication needs. The ideal candidate is a hands-on underwriting leader with deep experience in Non-QM mortgage products , strong credit judgment, and a proven ability to lead and develop underwriting teams. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage a team of mortgage underwriters , ensuring productivity and quality Review and approve complex Non-QM loan scenarios , including DSCR, bank statement, and investor loans Ensure all underwriting decisions align with investor, agency, and company guidelines Monitor and improve underwriting turn times and pipeline efficiency Provide ongoing training, mentorship, and guidance to underwriting staff Collaborate closely with loan officers, processors, and operations teams to ensure smooth loan flow Oversee loan quality, compliance, and risk management Assist with guideline interpretation, exceptions, and escalated underwriting scenarios Qualifications 7+ years of mortgage underwriting experience (Required) 3+ years in an underwriting leadership or management role (Preferred) Strong expertise in Non-QM mortgage underwriting , including: DSCR (Debt Service Coverage Ratio) Bank Statement Loans Asset Utilization Investor Loan Programs Deep knowledge of credit risk analysis, underwriting guidelines, and loan structuring Proven leadership, team management, and decision-making skills Strong communication skills in a fast-paced, high-volume mortgage environment Bilingual (Korean, Chinese, or Vietnamese) preferred to support client and team communication Compensation & Benefits Starting salary: $140,000+ annually + performance-based bonus Health Insurance Dental Insurance 401(k) Retirement Plan Opportunity to lead and scale a growing Non-QM underwriting team within a rapidly expanding mortgage company Work Location Brea, CA -
