This role manages the full accounting cycle, including job costing, WIP schedules, progress billings, payroll, cash flow forecasting, financial reporting, and compliance. The ideal candidate has strong construction accounting experience and can work closely with Project Managers and Operations to ensure accurate financial visibility across all projects. Key Responsibilities Manage daily accounting operations, including AP, AR, payroll, general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close. Prepare and maintain WIP schedules, job cost reports, percentage-of-completion revenue recognition, progress billings, subcontractor billings, and cash flow projections. Review project financial performance, including budget vs. actual costs, labor productivity, change orders, and under/over billings. Partner with Project Managers and Operations to review job costs, ensure accurate coding, identify variances, and improve project financial accountability. Oversee client billing, including AIA progress billings, lien waivers, retention tracking, and collections support. Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports. Improve accounting systems, internal controls, and financial processes to support company growth. Coordinate with CPAs, auditors, insurance brokers, and tax professionals. Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax requirements, construction contracts, certified payroll, and prevailing wage reporting when applicable. Lead and mentor accounting staff while remaining hands-on in daily accounting operations. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. 7+ years of accounting experience in the construction industry. Strong knowledge of WIP schedules, percentage-of-completion accounting, job costing, AIA billing, and construction financial reporting. Experience with QuickBooks Contractor Edition or similar construction accounting/ERP software. Advanced Excel skills required. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Proven ability to work well with Project Managers and Operations teams. Preferred Traits Hands-on and solutions-oriented. Pay:
$125,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
