A live events planning & catering service is an Accounting Manager to join their team. The Accounting Manager is responsible for the overall accounting operations of the Festival and Event Division, including financial reporting, accounting system management, internal controls, budgeting, and compliance. This role ensures the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of all financial data and reporting in accordance with GAAP. Responsibilities- Maintain and enhance a documented system of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Provide oversight and leadership to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable staff, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant processing of transactions
- Monitor AP and AR aging reports, identify and resolve discrepancies, and support cash flow management
- Maintain a comprehensive system of controls over accounting transactions
- Prepare and issue timely, accurate, and complete event based financial statements
- Coordinate preparation of event settlements for beverage and food operations for each event
- Develop and recommend financial benchmarks and performance metrics to measure and improve operational efficiency
- Calculate and analyze key financial and operating metrics, providing actionable insights to management
- Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, including final adjustments, reconciliations, and supporting documentation
- Lead the preparation and management of event forecasts, and variance analyses
- Monitor budget performance and report significant variances to senior management
- Provide management with regular cost and profitability reports to support decision-making Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration; or equivalent business experience
- Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible accounting experience
- Strong leadership experience overseeing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions
- Proficiency in accounting software systems and advanced Excel skills
- Experience in event, entertainment, or hospitality industries a plus
