Health, Dental, Vision Insurance, 401K, PTO, Paid Holidays and more Position Summary Seeking a hands-on and strategic Finance Manager to oversee day-to-day finance, accounting, and tax operations for the U.S. business. This role will work closely with global finance stakeholders and external professional service providers to ensure accurate financial operations, regulatory compliance, and transparent financial reporting. The Finance Manager will initially focus on operational execution and stabilization while progressively taking on greater responsibility for process improvement, financial governance, and organizational scaling. As the business grows, the scope of this role may expand to support finance activities in additional international locations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Finance & Accounting Operations Manage day-to-day finance and accounting activities, including sales data management, billing support, collections coordination, and accounts receivable oversight Support order processing, invoicing, and cash collection workflows, including implementation and operation of finance-related systems Maintain accurate financial records in coordination with external accounting service providers Monthly Close & Financial Reporting Prepare, organize, and validate data required for monthly and year-end closing activities Coordinate closely with external accounting firms to ensure timely and accurate financial close processes Review draft financial statements and identify variances, trends, and potential risks Regularly provide financial results, business issues, and key insights to management and global stakeholders Tax & Compliance Coordinate with external tax advisors on U.S. compliance matters, including Sales Tax filings and business registrations Manage state-level Sales Tax data and maintain proper documentation and audit readiness Support ongoing management of transfer pricing documentation and compliance requirements Monitor regulatory changes and proactively communicate compliance risks and concerns to stakeholders Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis Perform budget versus actual analysis and explain key variances Support annual budgeting and mid- to long-term financial planning processes Prepare financial reports and materials for management review and strategic decision-making Process Improvement & Finance Governance Identify operational inefficiencies, control gaps, and process risks within finance operations Collaborate with leadership teams and external partners to improve finance structures, workflows, and internal controls Contribute to the development and documentation of finance policies and procedures Support the scaling of finance operations in alignment with business growth Cross-Functional & Administrative Support During the initial phase, support a broad range of hands-on activities to gain a comprehensive understanding of business operations Assist with data organization, documentation, and finance-related administrative tasks Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, operations, and administrative teams to ensure financial accuracy and operational alignment Perform other duties and special projects as assigned Leadership Responsibility This position does not initially include direct supervisory responsibility. However, the Finance Manager is expected to serve as a key finance leader with strong cross-functional influence and future leadership potential. Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required CPA or equivalent professional certification preferred Experience & Skills 5-10 years of experience in accounting, finance, or related roles, preferably within a multinational company or growing organization Strong knowledge of U.S. accounting practices, monthly close processes, and Sales Tax compliance Experience working with external accounting and tax service providers Proven ability to analyze financial data, identify issues, and recommend practical solutions Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems; ERP or accounting software experience preferred Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills Effective written and verbal communication skills in English and Japanese Ability to work independently in a hands-on environment while collaborating with global teams Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and discretion in handling confidential financial information Travel Requirements Occasional domestic travel may be required Limited international travel may be required to coordinate with global teams, auditors, and external advisors
