Contract Job Duties:
Acts as a subject matter expert (SME) in Revenue Cycle operations Supports the supervisor in workload management, task distribution, and productivity tracking Provides training, onboarding, and ongoing guidance to new and existing staff Monitors performance, identifies gaps, and helps implement process improvements Collaborates with other departments to resolve billing, claims, and reimbursement issues Reviews denials, underpayments, and claim variances to identify root causes and solutions Ensures staff is working queues and accounts in line with internal policies and procedures Handles communication with payers, providers, patients, and insurance companies Maintains compliance with HIPAA, internal policies, and regulatory requirements Supports high-priority and high-value account resolution and escalation handling Assists in developing policies, training materials, and best practices
Job Requirements:
Minimum 7+ years of medical billing experience Strong knowledge of insurance claims, denials, and payer processes (Medicare, Medi-Cal, third-party payers, etc.) Experience reading and interpreting EOBs (Explanation of Benefits) Strong understanding of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding Knowledge of managed care contracts, reimbursement rules, and billing regulations Experience working with claims systems / practice management software Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment Associate's or Bachelor's degree
Preferred Schedule:
8:00 AM•5:00 PM 5 days a week Monday•Friday 40 hours/week
Pay:
$25.00•$28.00 per hour
