Job Description:
The Cost Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing all cost accounting functions, including inventory valuation, standard costing, variance analysis, budgeting support, and financial reporting related to manufacturing or operational costs. This role partners closely with finance and operations leadership to improve cost controls, drive profitability, and support strategic decision-making. Based on general knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual cost accounting close processes. Based on general knowledge. Maintain and improve standard cost systems, including bills of materials, labor routing, and overhead rates. Based on general knowledge. Analyze manufacturing variances, inventory activity, and production costs to identify trends and recommend corrective actions. Based on general knowledge. Oversee inventory accounting, including cycle counts, physical inventories, reserves, and reconciliations. Based on general knowledge. Partner with operations and supply chain teams to monitor cost performance and support operational efficiencies. Based on general knowledge.
Preferred Qualifications:
CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.
