Responsibilities:
Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting Supervise and mentor Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable staff, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to internal controls Manage grant accounting activities, including tracking restricted funding, monitoring grant expenditures, and ensuring compliance with grant requirements Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and audit preparation activities Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards, organizational policies, and regulatory requirements Review and improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting procedures Partner with leadership and program teams to provide financial analysis and operational support Assist with special projects and other accounting management responsibilities as needed
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 5+ years of progressive accounting experience Prior nonprofit accounting experience required, including grant accounting experience Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to work with complex spreadsheets, formulas, pivot tables, and financial reporting tools Experience working within the harm reduction sector and/or with SAPC-funded programs or grants is preferred but not required A bit about us:•We are partnering with a well-established nonprofit organization to hire an experienced Accounting Manager for a contract-to-hire opportunity.
