$100k-125k DOE Overview A growing civil engineering and construction firm in Northern Petaluma is seeking a hands-on Accounting/Office Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting operations and support the continued growth of the business. This role is ideal for a roll-up-your-sleeves accounting professional who enjoys wearing multiple hats, managing core accounting functions, and contributing beyond the numbers. The Accounting Manager will own the accounting function end to end while partnering closely with leadership, operations, and external vendors. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, billing, and collections Manage payroll processing for 20+ employees, including coordination with outside providers as needed Perform bank and credit card reconciliations and support month-end close activities Handle lien releases, job costing support, and construction-related accounting requirements Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks Online Prepare internal financial reports and support leadership with ad hoc analysis Oversee general office and administrative functions tied to accounting and payroll Ensure compliance with company policies and industry best practices Serve as a hands-on manager who can both execute and oversee daily work as needed Qualifications 5+ years of accounting experience preferred, ideally within construction or civil engineering Strong working knowledge of AP, AR, billing, payroll, and reconciliations Experience with QuickBooks Online required Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel Familiarity with lien releases and construction-related accounting processes a plus Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities Self-starter with a collaborative, problem-solving mindset Benefits & Perks Competitive compensation $100k-125k DOE Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) Safe Harbor plan Stable, growing company with long-term opportunity Fully on-site role with a close-knit, collaborative team
