We're scaling fast, and we're building the team and infrastructure to match. That's where you come in. The opportunity We're building our internal accounting department from the ground up, and we're looking for the person who wants to build it with us. This isn't a role where you maintain someone else's system. You'll design the system, establish the processes, and grow into the Controller as the organization scales. You'll work directly with ownership and leadership across all operating companies, coordinating with our external accounting partners through the transition and laying the foundation for a finance function that can support acquisitions and organic growth for years to come. What you'll own Phase 1 — Stabilize operations Manage billing, AP, AR, payroll preparation, and reconciliations across operating companies Coordinate with outsourced accounting firms during transition Improve financial reporting accuracy and ensure timely month-end close Maintain clean books across all entities Phase 2 — Build infrastructure Develop standardized accounting procedures and internal controls Create accounting workflows across all trade divisions Improve ServiceTitan and QuickBooks integration processes Build KPI and management reporting dashboards Deploy AI tools to streamline and modernize accounting functions and processes Phase 3 — Scale the department Assist in hiring and developing future accounting staff Build scalable financial processes to support future acquisitions Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning Lead the transition of accounting functions from outsourced providers to an internal team What success looks like in year one Month-end close running on a consistent, reliable schedule Accounting procedures standardized across all operating companies Billing, collections, and payroll workflows strengthened Management reporting packages developed and delivered regularly A clear roadmap in place for a fully internal accounting department What you bring Industry experience in any of the following: HVAC, plumbing, electrical, construction, field service, or home services Experience managing accounting across multiple entities, working alongside outsourced accounting firms, and building processes in high-growth environments. Controller or Accounting Manager track strongly preferred.
