Job Description
Our technology client in Pleasanton is seeking an experienced Technical Accounting Manager for a 4 month engagement. In this contract role, you will be responsible for managing complex technical accounting functions, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, supporting financial reporting processes, and meeting a tight audit deadline. This position offers an excellent opportunity to leverage your expertise in accounting principles and make a meaningful impact on the organization. The role is expected to pay $85-$100/hr. DOE and requires 3-4 days a week onsite work in Pleasanton, California.
Responsibilities:
- Interpret and apply evolving accounting standards and regulatory changes to ensure compliance across financial operations
- Conduct thorough research on intricate accounting issues, such as revenue recognition, lease accounting, and fair value measurements, providing actionable recommendations
- Develop and maintain accounting policies aligned with current standards and collaborate with the Finance Operations Team to implement necessary processes
- Assist in the preparation and review of accurate financial statements and disclosures in accordance with applicable accounting standards
- Provide technical guidance and training to finance and accounting teams on complex accounting matters
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors during financial audits, ensuring all documentation and explanations are provided effectively
- Evaluate accounting implications of mergers, acquisitions, and other business transactions, ensuring adherence to relevant standards
- Identify accounting-related risks and propose strategies to mitigate them
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, including Sarbanes-Oxley Act provisions
