Job Description

Robert Half is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager for our client in the education industry in San Diego, CA. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with experience overseeing daily accounting operations, managing month-end close, supervising staff, and supporting financial reporting and compliance.

The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while supporting the goals of a mission-driven organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger activity, reconciliations, and financial reportingManage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processesReview journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules for accuracy and completenessSupervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance on workflow and performancePrepare and review financial statements and management reportsMonitor internal controls and help ensure compliance with accounting policies and proceduresSupport budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis activitiesCoordinate audit preparation and respond to internal and external audit requestsCollaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiencyAssist with special projects and system or process enhancements as needed
