Job Description

Position Summary The position of the Finance Manager provides leadership and mentoring to the Senior Financial Analysts and Financial Analysts, as well as provide oversight and review of internal financial reporting within the organization including executive management, peer group reporting, and support to accounting for the 5300 reporting. This position will oversee the preparation of the annual budget in conjunction with the SVP of Finance and CFO. Oversight of the asset liability management processes and related initiatives. Maintain exceptional service standards set by the organization. Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills) BS Degree with emphasis in Finance, Accounting, Economics, General Business or equivalent. Minimum of six years of related experience in financial analysis/accounting. Demonstrated leadership, mentoring and training skills. Advanced Excel skills required. Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to recognize patterns and outliers. Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Thorough working knowledge of financial products and services, general ledger usage, and Asset Liability Management are required. Ability to understand logical connections between ideas and solve problems systematically. Sound decision-making and judgment in all work situations. Effective organizational and time management skills and ability to prioritize and coordinate projects successfully. Bank or credit union financial analysis experience desirable. Demonstrated success in planning, organizing, leading and oversight of people and activities. Professional and effective interaction, verbal and written communication skills. Organization skills sufficient to successfully manage multiple projects, establish priorities and meet deadlines. Track record of applying critical thinking and emotional intelligence skills in a wide variety of situations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Manage and provide leadership to the
Financial Analysts:
participate in hiring, training and employment recommendations; motivate, manage performance and deliverables of staff. Provide oversight for the following analyses and processes and review reports before distribution: Internal financial performance reporting 5300 report support Peer-group related financial reports Assimilation and submission of financial data to consultant groups for peer reporting Oversight of the financial reporting and budgeting software processes including software maintenance and related vendor management. Design controls and data validation for the maintenance and support of all financial information systems to ensure data accuracy and integrity are in place. Review trending on reports and make recommendations. Assist in the fulfillment of complex and long-term projects from planning through implementation as needed and work with staff to ensure long-term projects are being completed in a timely manner. Oversight of the preparation of the annual budget in conjunction with the SVP of Finance and CFO including compilation of information from various cost centers, income statement forecasts, balance sheet forecasts and capital expenditure requests. Assist the department with process improvements opportunities from other departments. Involvement with exam and internal audits. Oversight of the finance responsibilities in the annual opinion audit. Primary responsibility for the Allowance for Loan and Lease Loss calculation and related documentation. Evaluate current processes and provide recommendations on process improvements and quality controls. Oversight of the Asset Liability Management processes and initiatives. ALM processes include ALCO packet preparation and related vendor management. Ensure adherence with our ALM Program Management document including the scheduling of stress testing and assumption reviews. Coordinate vendor management and user access management functions. Oversight and involvement in the completion of ad hoc requests from other business units as necessary. Oversight of internal procedure documentation preparation. Provide training, support and development in this process. Provide managerial oversight of the activities for areas of responsibility, including assigned staff and functional deliverables of the team. Demonstrate leadership in words and actions on a daily basis; act as role model for success and engagement. Create a positive work environment conducive to trust and transparency. Responsible for the performance management of staff, to include daily feedback, coaching and mentoring; administration of appraisals that are timely and meaningful. Identify and address deficiencies constructively. Continually support, encourage and motivate team members toward ongoing growth and development. Consult with Human Resources (HR) on issues outside of the normal scope of performance or behavior. Report all issues of safety or legal consequence immediately and surface undesirable patterns as they are discovered. Partner with HR on all employment decisions, and refer requests for changes in terms or scheduling to the HR department. Monitor approved schedules, review and approve timesheets of staff, and ensure all expenses are reported as per company policy. Schedule and provide staff the opportunity for meal and rest breaks, while ensuring operational coverage is maintained. Other Duties & Responsibilities Perform other duties as assigned.
