Bonus Job Summary:
The Vice President of Investments will play a key leadership role in shaping and executing the organization's investment strategy across healthcare real estate asset classes, including medical office buildings, senior housing, life sciences, and other healthcare-related properties. The Vice President will contribute to investment policy and capital allocation decisions, and will assist in the preparation and review of materials for board meetings, earnings calls, and other stakeholder communications. The role involves active collaboration across departments, including asset management, finance, legal, and property operations, to support the REIT's overall growth and performance objectives.
Essential Job Duties:
Lead, negotiate, and execute complex real estate transactions including acquisitions, joint ventures, developments, and dispositions. Conduct financial analysis, underwriting, market research, and due diligence on investment opportunities in healthcare real estate. Contribute to the development of investment strategy, objectives, and policies aligned with corporate goals and public company requirements. Prepare and review board materials, investor reports, and other external stakeholder presentations. Build and maintain relationships with brokers, healthcare operators, joint venture partners, lenders, legal advisors, and investment banks. Collaborate with internal teams (asset management, finance, legal, development) to ensure investment alignment and operational integration. Apply financial models, valuation methods, and investment frameworks to evaluate and support decision-making. Respond to inquiries and coordinate with asset management, property management, finance, and administrative departments. All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present effectively to senior leadership and external stakeholders Strong analytical and financial modeling skills; proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other financial tools. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines. High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Experience working within public company environments and understanding of REIT compliance and reporting standards. Ability to work overtime and travel as needed. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Real Estate, or a related field required; MBA or relevant graduate degree preferred. Minimum 7-10 years of experience in real estate investment, investment banking, private equity, or related field. Prior experience with healthcare real estate and/or REIT structures strongly preferred. Proven ability to manage and close complex real estate transactions with institutional stakeholders. Strong professional judgment, with discretion in handling confidential or sensitive information. Experience preparing and presenting materials for board meetings, investor relations, and public filings preferred.
Physical Requirements:
This position may require the ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds, stand or sit for extended periods, and perform typical office-related tasks.
