Job Description

San Luis Valley Health is seeking a full time Director of Revenue Cycle. In line with SLVHs vision, mission and values, the Director is responsible for managing and leading all functions falling within the Revenue Cycle; including Patient Financial Services, Authorizations, Patient Accounting and Coding. Successful Director will enhance and maintain a high-functioning revenue cycle process through a cross-departmental organizational structure, concentrating resources on improving core clinical care delivery and protecting the assets of the facility. Qualified candidates will possess the following qualifications and skills:

Masters Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or other related field, 5 years experience in Revenue CycleStrong knowledge of billing software programs, including but not limited to: Meditech, Paragon, Relay Clearance and Relay Assurance preferred5-7 years demonstrated management and supervisory experience. 15+ years of experience combined with a Bachelors Degree may also be considered. Possess strong customer service and interpersonal skillsAbilities to problem solve, effectively plan and organize their work, have solid oral and written communication skillsStamina to work in a fast-paced, challenging and complex environmentAbility to lead meetings, manage staff expectations, and convey information in a meaningful way to leadership. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Oversee all aspects of the Admissions, Registration, Coding, Billing, Collections, and related billing management functions of the Revenue Cycle for SLV Health. Responsible for revenue related financial analysis and organizational reporting, using IT knowledge and application competency as related to all software applications used in revenue cycle and maintains compliance with all audit standards, including internal control. Approve all changes to the charge master following policy protocols; standard changes of lab, supplies, drug, etc; multiplier and comprehensive changes with senior team approval. Monitors and reports on key metrics such as cash collections, days outstanding, unbilled, denials, etc. Establishes and maintains controls and procedures for all payments collected and posted in the billing system(s), manages proper adjustments of patient accounts, and directs bad debt write off processes. Maintains effective communication with third party insurance carriers to resolve issues that impede cash flow and detract from patient/member satisfaction. Directs the development of tactical plans and operating budgets to achieve strategic goals; monitor progress toward goals throughout the year. Hires, trains, evaluates and develops assigned managers and supervisors. Concentrates resources on improving core clinical care delivery and protecting the assets of the facility; achieves annual and periodic goals for statistical indicators of revenue cycle performance and for the overall financial performance of SLV Health. Serves as the primary contact for revenue cycle matters with financial auditors. Maintains competency by engaging in various training and continuing education programs as approved by the CEO.
