Longmont, CO Are you a hands-on accounting professional who thrives in a manufacturing environment and enjoys turning numbers into operational strategy? We are seeking an experienced Plant Accounting Manager to lead cost accounting, inventory analysis, forecasting, and financial reporting for a growing manufacturing operation. This is a direct hire opportunity with long-term stability, strong leadership visibility, and the chance to play a critical role in plant performance and financial decision-making. As the Plant Accounting Manager, you'll partner closely with operations, purchasing, production, and leadership teams to drive cost savings, improve reporting accuracy, and support strategic business decisions. What You'll Be DoingCost Accounting & Inventory Management (50%) Lead inventory standard cost development, annual reviews, and accuracy of cost components including labor, material, and overhead Analyze monthly manufacturing variances such as PPV, absorption, freight, and operational performance metrics Manage inventory-related reserves and balance sheet reporting Monitor and analyze Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) Partner with operations teams to review standard costs, product margins, and manufacturing performance Prepare margin and cost reports by product and customer Support forecasting, budgeting, and strategic cost planning Oversee cycle count programs and coordinate annual physical inventory General Accounting & Financial Reporting (50%) Manage full month-end and year-end close processes Reconcile balance sheet accounts and intercompany transactions Analyze operating expenses and COGS performance Prepare financial reports, variance analysis, and management summaries Support forecasting, annual budgets, and business review processes Assist with financial audits and compliance activities Provide financial guidance to Operations and Sales teams Help establish and maintain accounting policies and procedures What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required 5+ years of manufacturing accounting experience with strong cost accounting background Experience in an MRP environment Strong knowledge of inventory costing and month-end close processes Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills Ability to collaborate across departments and influence operational decisions Detail-oriented, reliable, and deadline-driven Why This Opportunity Stands Out Direct Hire Position Salary Negotiable Based on Experience High visibility within plant leadership Opportunity to impact operations and financial strategy Stable, long-term career growth potential Collaborative manufacturing environment If you're ready to bring your accounting expertise into a highly visible manufacturing leadership role, apply today.Pay:
