Position Overview The firm is seeking an experienced Controller to report directly to the CFO/COO and oversee a broad range of accounting, finance, treasury, and reporting responsibilities across the management company and investment vehicles. This is a highly visible, hands-on role within a lean team and is ideal for someone who enjoys operating in a collaborative environment, wearing multiple hats, and partnering closely with leadership on both strategic and day-to-day financial operations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, professional, and seeking a stable long-term opportunity within a growing private investment platform. Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting and finance operations across the management company and investment entities
  • Manage quarterly and annual financial reporting processes
  • Oversee investment accounting, capital activity, and investor reporting functions
  • Manage treasury operations, cash forecasting, and liquidity planning
  • Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, fund administrators, and other service providers
  • Assist with tax-related processes and review of partnership allocations and filings
  • Maintain and enhance internal controls, operational processes, and accounting procedures
  • Partner closely with senior leadership on firmwide financial initiatives and ad hoc projects
  • Mentor and collaborate with junior accounting team members
Qualifications:
  • 15-20 years of accounting and finance experience within private equity, alternative asset management, or public accounting
  • Strong understanding of private equity fund accounting and investment operations
  • Prior experience working within lean or entrepreneurial environments preferred
  • CPA strongly preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Team-oriented, professional, and hands-on approach
  • Seeking a stable, long-term opportunity
  • Comfortable working onsite five days per week in Stamford, CT Compensation & Benefits
  • Base salary target: $150K-$200K
  • Total compensation potential around $300K
