Overview A leading, highly regarded hedge fund based in Connecticut is seeking a Trading & Derivatives Documentation Negotiator to join its high-performing legal and trading support team. This is a unique opportunity to work at an elite buy-side firm with significant exposure to complex derivatives transactions across global markets. The role sits at the intersection of legal, trading, and risk management, requiring deep expertise in derivatives documentation and strong negotiation capabilities. Key Responsibilities Lead the negotiation of ISDA Master Agreements , Credit Support Annexes (CSAs), and related trading documentation Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of derivatives documentation across asset classes (rates, FX, equity, credit, commodities) Partner closely with trading desks, legal counsel, and counterparties to facilitate efficient onboarding and trading activity Manage counterparty relationships throughout the documentation lifecycle Interpret legal and credit terms to assess and mitigate risk exposure Coordinate with internal stakeholders (Legal, Risk, Compliance, Operations) to ensure alignment on documentation standards Maintain and update internal documentation templates, playbooks, and negotiation strategies Track negotiation progress and proactively manage bottlenecks in onboarding processes Qualifications 3-7+ years of experience negotiating derivatives documentation at a hedge fund, investment bank, or asset manager Strong expertise in ISDA documentation, collateral agreements, and trade documentation frameworks Proven experience negotiating with major dealer counterparties Solid understanding of derivatives products and associated risks Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-performance environment Bachelor's degree required; JD or legal background is a plus but not required Compensation & Benefits Base salary: $100,000 - $150,000 (commensurate with experience) Competitive discretionary bonus Comprehensive benefits package Opportunity to work within an elite, well-capitalized hedge fund with strong performance track record Why This Role Join a top-tier hedge fund with a reputation for excellence and disciplined risk-taking High visibility role with direct interaction across front office and senior stakeholders Exposure to a broad range of sophisticated derivatives transactions Collaborative, high-caliber team environment
