Full Job Description Job Summary:
About the Role We are seeking a results-driven Manager of Hospital Revenue Cycle to lead all aspects of our patient financial services and revenue operations. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for managing hospital accounts receivable, reducing days in A/R, improving clean claim rates, and ensuring full compliance with CMS and payer billing requirements. If you have a strong command of hospital billing and a track record of building efficient, high-performing revenue cycle teams, we want to hear from you. What You'll Be Responsible For Oversee all revenue cycle functions: billing, accounts receivable, denials management, payment posting, and collections Monitor A/R aging and drive resolution of outstanding claims to maintain days in A/R within target thresholds Manage charge capture accuracy and conduct routine charge audits across service lines Lead denial prevention and overturn strategies; track denial trends and implement corrective action Supervise, coach, and develop a team of billing supervisors, A/R specialists, and follow-up staff Deliver monthly revenue cycle performance reports and KPI dashboards to the CFO and executive leadership Ensure compliance with
HIPAA, CMS, OIG
guidelines, and all applicable federal and state billing regulations Collaborate with IT on EHR system optimization, reporting builds, and workflow automation Serve as primary point of contact for payer relations, external audits, and RAC/MAC reviews Benchmark performance against HFMA standards and drive continuous improvement initiatives Required Qualifications 5+ years of experience directly managing hospital accounts receivable — this is a firm requirement Demonstrated success reducing A/R days, increasing net collections, and improving clean claim rates Expert knowledge of UB-04 hospital billing, ICD-10/CPT coding impact on reimbursement, and payer contract terms Experience managing Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer billing and follow-up Proficiency with hospital information systems (Epic, Cerner, Meditech, or equivalent) Strong understanding of CMS Conditions of Participation, HIPAA, and healthcare billing compliance Bachelor's degree in Health Administration, Finance, Business, or a related field Experience leading teams of 10 or more in a hospital or health system environment Preferred Qualifications Master's degree (MHA, MBA, or MS in Finance/Healthcare) Certified Revenue Cycle Professional (CRCP) or Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP) Experience with Cerner Hospital Billing Familiarity with charge description master (CDM) management and 340B program compliance Background in value-based care, bundled payments, or ACO revenue cycle operations

  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • The role may involve long hours and occasional weekend work, particularly during peak periods (month end) or when facing critical deadlines.
