Job Description
Job Summary Lazy River Village, INC, a residential cooperative property with 356 units, common areas, and amenities is seeking a full-time Assistant Manager/Bookkeeper. In this role, your main responsibility will be to keep financial records, manage payroll, and support reporting and auditing processes. As a secondary role, you will aid our Community Association Manager (CAM) with day-to-day office operations. Duties Assistant Manager Maintaining resident records, contracts and payments Call-to-Action/Maintenance Intake requests Point-of-Sale for consumable products Process website form submissions Address resident concerns promptly via conflict resolution Respond to phone calls, emails, and correspondence in a time efficient and professional manner Co-ordinate property rentals and sales Review of applications Completion of background checks and statement of assessments Schedule Board interviews Associated closing activities including community management software updates and QuickBooks updates New resident welcome tasks Coordinate event logistics as needed Assist with other administration duties as directed by office manager Bookkeeper Manage all day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting processes, including A/P, A/R, payroll, journal entries, and bank reconciliation in QuickBooks Online Generate monthly financial reports, income statements, cash flow statements, and balance sheets using QuickBooks Online and includes identifying discrepancies in financial data and resolving issues efficiently Maintain an orderly financial filing system and ensure the confidentiality and security of all files Prepare and submit sales tax returns and other statutory filings Aid with budget preparation and financial forecasts, providing insights into financial health and performance Coordinate with external auditors and provide required information for annual audits or reviews Stay current with QuickBooks Online updates, features, and best practices plus recommend improvements to internal accounting processes Requirements and Skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace and related applications. Ability to build positive relationships with residents, vendors, and team members Proven experience as a bookkeeper or similar role, specifically using QuickBooks Online Associate's degree in accounting, finance or related field preferred Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting Strong QuickBooks Online experience Proficiency in customization to improve bookkeeping workflow Proficiency in integrating QuickBooks Online with other software (e.g. CRM systems, banks, Excel) Ability to analyze financial data and generate reports Excellent mindfulness, problem-solving ability, and organizational skills Effective interpersonal communication skills and capable of collaborating with a team Excellent phone etiquette and customer service Ability to work independently and manage confidential financial and personal information with integrity Ability to learn and implement new software applications Property management systems experience a plus
