The Accounting Manager will oversee all project-related financial activities, managing budgets, forecasts, and cost controls from initiation through project closeout. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of construction accounting and the percentage-of-completion method to ensure accurate revenue recognition and project profitability.

Annually BOE Responsibilities:

Manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost controls from project initiation through final closeout. Track and analyze project costs, including labor, materials, subcontractors, and overhead expenditures. Prepare and review project-related financial reports, including variance analyses and detailed forecasts. Execute project billing and invoicing, ensuring revenue recognition aligns with accounting standards and contract terms. Monitor project profitability and identify financial risks or discrepancies for management review. Maintain compliance with contract terms, internal controls, and corporate accounting policies. Collaborate with project managers to provide financial data and support operational decision-making. Lead month-end and year-end close processes specifically related to project accounting functions.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 5-7 years of professional accounting experience in a project-based, construction environment. Mandatory experience in construction accounting practices and cost accounting principles. Strong proficiency in percentage-of-completion (POC) accounting methodologies. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and various financial reporting tools. Experience working with construction-specific accounting software or ERP systems. Demonstrated ability to interpret complex contract terms and ensure financial compliance. Proven track record of managing project-level financial reporting and variance analysis.

Physical Requirements:

Regularly required to sit, talk, and hear in an office environment. Extensive use of hands and fingers to operate a computer, keyboard, and other office equipment. Specific vision abilities required for prolonged periods of computer-based financial analysis. Ability to occasionally lift and move office files or documentation up to 20 pounds.

Pay Transparency:

The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $10,000 to $135,000 annually, based on relevant factors such as experience, skills, education, internal equity, and geographic location.
