Full Job Description Position Overview:
The ProMedia Group is seeking a highly organized and experienced Accounting Department Manager to lead and oversee all day-to-day accounting operations for our fast-growing audiovisual integration company. This position requires a strong financial leader who understands the unique demands of project-based accounting, job costing, forecasting, and operational financial management within a rapidly expanding organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, attention to detail, advanced accounting knowledge, and the ability to manage and mentor accounting personnel while helping guide the financial growth and stability of the company.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department. Supervise, mentor, and evaluate accounting personnel and administrative accounting staff. Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all accounting functions, including: Accounts payable Accounts receivable Payroll coordination General ledger management Financial reporting Maintain and oversee project-based job costing systems and reporting. Review and validate project profitability, labor allocations, and cost tracking. Prepare and manage commission statements and compensation reporting. Develop and maintain company budgets, forecasting models, and cash flow projections. Assist executive leadership with financial planning and strategic growth analysis. Monitor company financial performance and identify operational efficiencies. Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Coordinate with external CPA firms, auditors, banks, and financial institutions. Ensure compliance with all accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies. Support operational departments with financial analysis and reporting tools. Assist with implementation and optimization of accounting software and reporting systems. Participate in executive meetings regarding company growth, staffing, and financial strategy.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Minimum 5+ years of accounting management experience Strong leadership and personnel management abilities Ability to create and interpret a work in process report Advanced understanding of: Job costing Construction or project-based accounting Budgeting and forecasting Financial statement preparation Commission reporting structures Cash flow management Experience working within a fast-growing company environment Strong understanding of profitability analysis and operational financial reporting Excellent organizational and communication skills High level of integrity and confidentiality Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Proficiency with accounting software platforms and Microsoft Excel Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines and responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in audiovisual integration, construction, low-voltage, engineering, or technology industries Experience with QuickBooks Enterprise, QuickBooks Online Projects, or similar ERP/accounting systems Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration CPA certification preferred but not required
