Tampa, Florida The Accounting Manager, reporting to the Controller, is responsible for the processes designed to drive accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial reporting within our commercial, defense, and aerospace company business units. Highly detail oriented, customer focused, experience with CAS/FAR, along with the ability to interpret and verify accuracy of data, to work collaboratively across functional areas, and supporting and developing a high-performance team are essential skills for success in this role.
Responsibilities:
Manage the Accounting Functions of General Ledger, AR, AP, Cost Accounting, Fixed Assets, Payroll and Tax. Supervise a staff that evolves with growth of company. Oversee the tactical elements of our monthly and year-end financial closes, including journal entries, accruals, and overall maintenance of the trial balance. Prepare financial reports and verify accuracy of the data. Review travel & expense (T&E) reports and weekly AP check runs. Review bi-weekly Payroll. Provide accounting guidance to functional departments. Review and oversee ERP user access & internal controls, with Deltek Costpoint experience being a plus. Research of transactions or issues as they relate to GAAP. Responsible for the adherence to and communication of accounting and auditing policies and procedures. Identify cost savings opportunities and process efficiencies. Ability to inspire and motivate team performance, meet commitments, and achieve goals. Supervise, train, mentor and coach finance team. Motivate and lead team to support mission, act with integrity, work collaboratively, meet commitments, and achieve objectives.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of general accounting experience. Experience with CAS, FAR, DFARs Deltek Costpoint experience. General ledger experience. People Management experience and ability to build and develop a high-performance culture. Expert level working experience with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel. Preferred CPA or CMA Certification. Accounts Payable (A/P) and/or Accounts Receivable (A/R) experience. Payroll experience. ERP use and implementation experience. Mergers and acquisition experience.
Other Requirements:
Travel:
5-10% with possibly infrequent international travel.
Work Environment:
Office work environment, with occasional visits to manufacturing sites.
