Strategic Financial Manager Superior Construction - 3.6 Tampa, FL Job Details Full-time 20 hours ago Qualifications Driver's License Bachelor's degree Full Job Description Job Description Summary/Objective The Manager - Strategic Financial Initiatives position is a mid-level accounting professional who is responsible for assessing the financial results of our operating divisions and also assessing strategic initiatives. They will generate executive options for decisions involving strategic initiatives that can range from separate legal entity set-ups, acquisitions, and new market studies. Coordinate with the Corporate Controller to develop long-term forecasts and a strategy that is aligned with Operational objectives. Maintain relationships with our banking partners and support the Capital Assets Finance Manager. Support the overall accounting team ADHOC with month-end journal entries. Lead the external audit execution and report the status to the Corporate Controller. Assist with the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes Support external audits by preparing schedules and/or answering auditors' questions Prepare and analyze records and reports Perform account reconciliations Book monthly activity for related entities Other Participate in special projects, team training and development Foster and maintain a safe work environment Assist with the leadership and development of project team members All other duties as assigned Competencies Financial Management Ethical Conduct Strong oral and written communication skills Communication proficiency Customer/client focus Diversity and inclusion Results driven Teamwork orientation Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills Supervisory Requirements You will be managing one staff analyst that will be sourced after this role is filled. Work Environment This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers. The individual will report to our Tampa regional office. (5405 Cypress Center Drive, Tampa, FL 33607) Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee regularly sits for long periods of time at a desk in front of a computer screen. The employee occasionally may be required to lift, push, pull or carry objects; typically, when filing is needed. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, use hands; and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time exempt position. This position sometimes requires long hours. Travel The role prefers travel (20-30%) to project sites to partake in project audits that include review of the project equipment schedule and its costs. Accommodation is made for virtual attendance. Required Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in accounting, Business, or Finance or comparable Business Administration Certification programs. A certification in one of the following disciplines: Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional (CCIFP), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA). The certification requirement can be waived if the individual has over 5 years of work experience in the heavy civil construction industry. Preferred Education and Experience Master's degree in accounting, Business, or Finance. Public Accounting Experience. 1-2 Years of Construction Experience. Additional Eligibility Requirements Must possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate state driver's license prior to employment.
