Job Description

Job Summary The Director, Assistant Portfolio Manager will support the management of the Bank's investment securities and derivatives portfolios, partnering closely with the Head of Portfolio Management on portfolio strategy, analytics, execution, and governance. The successful candidate will contribute to investment and hedging strategy, portfolio construction, trade execution, performance reporting, and hedge governance. The role will also provide leadership and oversight to a team of Treasury Analysts. Job Duties and Responsibilities Portfolio Management & Strategy Partner with the Head of Portfolio Management in managing the Bank's investment securities and derivatives portfolios. Contribute to portfolio construction decisions related to duration, liquidity, yield, convexity, and risk-adjusted return objectives. Monitor market conditions, interest rate trends, spread relationships, and macroeconomic developments impacting portfolio strategy. Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and development for Treasury Analysts. Develop and enhance portfolio reporting for Treasury leadership, ALCO, and senior management. Build and maintain analytical models, dashboards, and reporting tools. Derivatives Strategy & Execution Support the development and execution of interest rate hedging strategies utilizing swaps and other approved derivative instruments. Evaluate hedge opportunities and provide recommendations related to portfolio and balance sheet risk management objectives. Monitor hedge performance and effectiveness relative to strategic objectives. Hedge Governance & Controls Lead hedge accounting documentation, effectiveness testing, and ongoing governance processes. Coordinate with Accounting, Finance, Risk Management, Internal Audit, and external auditors regarding derivative activities. Ensure compliance with hedge accounting requirements, internal policies, and regulatory expectations. Support SOX controls, documentation standards, and governance processes related to investment and derivative portfolios. Maintain robust procedures supporting portfolio management and risk oversight activities. Performs other related duties as required. Minimum Education:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, or related field.
Minimum Experience:
Minimum 5-7 years in capital markets, treasury, or investment management roles, preferably within a financial institution or equivalent combination of education and experience. 5-10 years of experience in bank treasury, fixed income portfolio management, capital markets, asset management, or related fields. Strong understanding of fixed income markets, interest rate risk, and portfolio analytics. Experience analyzing and communicating portfolio risk and performance metrics. Demonstrated leadership experience and ability to manage and develop junior team members. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Knowledge of hedge accounting principles and effectiveness testing methodologies.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Advanced degree preferred Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) preferred Familiarity with GAAP accounting for investments and derivatives is a plus.
