job summary: At Tatum, we are constantly partnering with growing businesses across the Atlanta area. While this is not an active, immediate opening, we are proactively building a network of talented financial professionals for upcoming, high-priority Accounting Manager roles. Atlanta, Georgia job type: Contract salary: $60 - 90 per hour work hours: 9 to 5 education: Bachelor's degree experience: 5 Years responsibilities:
Financial Oversight:
Managing daily accounting operations, including GL, AP/AR, payroll, and statutory reporting.
Month-End Close:
Leading the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements.
Compliance & Controls:
Maintaining and strengthening internal controls (SOX compliance where applicable) and coordinating external audits.
Team Leadership:
Supervising, mentoring, and developing a small team of staff accountants or specialists.
Strategic Analysis:
Budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support executive decision-making.
qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience:
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
Technical Skills:
Advanced Excel proficiency and experience with mid-to-large tier ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Workday, or QuickBooks Enterprise).
Credentials:
CPA certification or progress toward a CPA is highly preferred by many of our partners.
Communication:
Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
