Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWe are currently seeking an experienced Accounting Manager on behalf of a highly respected organization. This role offers the chance to lead a dynamic accounting team, oversee financial operations, and contribute to the company's strategic goals.
Position Summary:
As the Accounting Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in financial reporting, team leadership, and regulatory compliance. You will play a critical role in managing the accounting team, preparing financial statements, and supporting the organization's financial health.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, payroll, and financial reporting. Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP or other relevant standards. Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to improve efficiency and accuracy. Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting. Coordinate and oversee audits, tax filings, and other regulatory requirements. Provide leadership, training, and mentorship to the accounting team, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence. Collaborate with other departments to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives. Monitor and analyze accounting data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to financial reporting and tax filings. Assist in strategic decision-making by providing financial insights and recommendations to senior management.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA certification preferred). 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2-3 years in a management or supervisory role. Strong knowledge of GAAP and other relevant accounting principles. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Proven ability to lead and develop a team in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in [specific industry, e.g., manufacturing, nonprofit, or corporate accounting]. Familiarity with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
