Job Description

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
We're looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Coordinator to join our team in a part-time capacity with a clear path forward.
This is a ground-floor opportunity:
as our Finance function grows, so will this role, we fully expect this position to transition to full-time. You'll work closely with the Finance Director, taking on meaningful, hands-on work across accounts payable, receivable, compliance, and reporting. ROLE SUMMARY
The Accounting Coordinator provides direct support to the Finance Director across finance, banking, and general administration. The role is designed to absorb routine and administrative tasks, freeing the Finance Director to focus on strategy, while giving the right candidate a clear runway into a broader full-time finance role.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Accounts Payable Review, verify, and process vendor invoices for accuracy, proper coding, and approval Maintain and update vendor records Review, approve, and process expense reports in accordance with company policy Process and reconcile company credit card statements Prepare payment batches including checks, ACH, and wire transfers Accounts Receivable & Collections Conduct routine collection activities to support timely payment of outstanding invoices Communicate with customers via phone and email regarding past-due balances Research and help resolve payment disputes, short payments, and unapplied cash Compliance & Audit Support Maintain and update sales tax codes and exemption certificates Ensure compliance with company financial policies and applicable regulations Support 1099 reporting and related tax documentation Assist with internal audits and compliance reviews by gathering and organizing documentation Financial Reporting & Accounting Assist with month-end and year-end close processes Assist with preparation of routine financial reports Support general ledger entries and coding as directed Perform account reconciliations and maintain accurate, up-to-date financial records
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Required 3-5 years of experience in finance and accounting Associate degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Bachelor's degree preferred Solid understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping practices Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel Working knowledge of SAP Business One or Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) preferred Competencies Exceptional attention to detail and numerical accuracy Analytical mindset with the ability to independently research and resolve discrepancies Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage deadlines Clear, professional communication and a collaborative approach to teamwork Ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion and confidentiality
GROWTH & FULL-TIME PATH
We want to be transparent: this role starts at 20 hours per week, but we're building toward a full-time position. As our Finance team's scope expands, we anticipate converting this role to full-time. The right candidate will grow with us, taking on additional responsibility over time as we scale.
Pay:
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour
