Crown Crafts, Inc., a leading company in infant, toddler, and juvenile consumer products has an opening in its accounting department for an Accounting Manager. The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing and executing key accounting functions to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the Company's financial records and reporting. This role manages month-end close activities, account reconciliations, financial statement preparation, foreign currency accounting, wire payment processing, and audit support. The Accounting Manager partners with leadership to provide financial analysis and ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and regulatory requirements. This position may also supervise and mentor accounting staff. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: General Accounting Prepare, review, and post journal entries, accruals, and account adjustments. Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness. Perform detailed account reconciliations, including bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and intercompany transactions. Analyze financial data, account activity, and business expenses to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement. Research and resolve accounting issues and discrepancies. Financial Reporting & Close Process Lead and execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close procedures. Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and supporting schedules for management review. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities. Develop and maintain financial reports and dashboards to support business decision-making. Ensure all financial reporting is prepared in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Cash Management & Payments Coordinate and process domestic and international wire payments. Monitor cash activity and assist with cash flow forecasting. Ensure payment transactions are processed accurately and in accordance with company policies and approval requirements. Foreign Currency Accounting Manage foreign currency accounting activities, including currency revaluations, translations, and related journal entries. Monitor exchange rate impacts and ensure accurate accounting treatment of foreign currency transactions. Compliance, Internal Controls & Audits Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of internal controls to safeguard company assets. Assist with internal and external audits, including preparation of schedules, supporting documentation, and responses to auditor inquiries. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including tax and reporting requirements. Assist with business tax filings and support tax-related audits and inquiries. Leadership & Process Improvement Supervise, train, and mentor accounting staff. Review work completed by team members to ensure accuracy and compliance with company standards. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, workflows, and reporting efficiencies. Collaborate with cross-functional departments to support operational and financial objectives. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience. Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred. Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and accounting best practices. Experience managing month-end close processes and financial statement preparation. Experience with account reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance. Knowledge of foreign currency accounting and international payment processing preferred. Experience supporting audits and maintaining internal controls. Proficiency in accounting software (Quickbooks) and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools preferred. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment. Preferred Qualifications CPA designation or progress toward CPA certification preferred. Experience in manufacturing, distribution, consumer products, or related industries preferred.
