Salary Range for this position is $88-95k We offer a hybrid workplace with three days onsite in our corporate office-Tuesday through Thursday in Waitsfield, VT or Andover, MA The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department and ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting. This role oversees the general ledger, supports month-end and year-end close processes, and ensures compliance with GAAP, company policies, and internal controls. Key responsibilities Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes Manage the GL, AP, month-end and year-end close processes Review and process journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements Ensure timely and accurate reporting in accordance with
U.S. GAAP
Analyze financial results and investigate variances Oversee general ledger activities, including accruals, deferrals, and reclasses Responsible for the accuracy of annual budget details loaded into ERP Ownership of the expense reporting module
  • Certify Manage balance sheet account reconciliations and resolution of discrepancies Ensure proper accounting for fixed assets, leases, reserves, and prepaid expenses Oversee the Capital Committee, and ensure that fixed assets are properly recorded into SAGE and ERP Oversee grant accounting management Provide accounting support with R D efforts and work with 3 rd party CPA firm to ensure proper treatment of the R D tax credit Manage and compile the annual tax provision for the company Maintain strong internal controls over financial reporting Support audits and prepare audit schedules and documentation as necessary Mentor, develop and guide staff Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and efficiency Lead accounting resource supporting the conversion and implementation of a new ERP system Develop and document accounting policies and procedures Partner with Finance, FP&A, Tax, Payroll, and other departments Provide accounting guidance to business stakeholders Perform other duties as assigned What we are seeking: Education Level•Required/Preferred•BS Accounting or Finance, MBA or CPA a plus Work Experience•10+ years of progressive experience Practical/Technical Knowledge Supervisory experience preferred Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all levels of an organization Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results Excellent planning and time management skills Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Self-motivated Ability to multi-task JD Edwards, SAGE experience a plus but not required Systems conversion experience a plus Agri-Mark is an equal opportunity employer.
