Job Description The Global Investment Services (GIS) Head of Client Coverage is a senior executive responsible for setting and executing the client coverage, business development, and revenue growth strategy across U.S. Bank's Investment Services platform. This role leads the commercial agenda for a complex, global institutional franchise supporting approximately 20,400 unique client relationships across custody, fund services, middle office, fund accounting, and agency solutions. Operating within a business generating approximately $3.2 billion in total revenue ($1.8 billion in fee‑based revenue) and managing over $75 billion in deposits, the Head of Client Coverage drives growth across fee‑based services, non‑interest revenue, net interest income derived from client deposits. The role provides strategic and operational leadership over product-vertical Business Development Officers (BDOs), Relationship Management (RMs), and Sales Support, ensuring a unified, client-centric coverage model. This executive serves as a primary commercial integrator across Global Investment Services, external product lines, and internal enterprise partners, collaborating closely with Product, Operations, Risk, Finance, Legal, Marketing, Technology, and Implementation leaders to balance growth ambitions with operational excellence and risk discipline. Essential Functions Own and execute the global client coverage and commercial strategy for Global Investment Services, aligned to U.S. Bank enterprise objectives and long‑term growth priorities. Drive sustainable revenue growth through new client acquisition, expansion of existing relationships, and retention of strategic accounts. Provide executive leadership and governance over product‑vertical Business Development Officers, Relationship Management, and Sales Support, ensuring a unified and disciplined coverage model. Establish and maintain rigorous go‑to‑market, pipeline, and forecasting disciplines that enable transparency, predictability, and scalability across regions and products. Sponsor and lead the firm's most significant client relationships and complex, multi‑product opportunities, engaging directly with senior client executives. Serve as a recognized industry subject matter expert for Global Investment Services, representing U.S. Bank at major client forums and industry events, and delivering thought leadership in partnership with Marketing and Product to advance brand position and commercial outcomes. Provide executive oversight of Business Line Incentive Plans (BLIPs), partnering with Compensation, Finance, and Risk to ensure incentives are performance‑based, well‑governed, compliant, and aligned to enterprise compensation principles. Create a single, accountable, client‑led coverage experience that integrates multiple product verticals while preserving deep product expertise so clients experience one U.S. Bank, one strategy, one commercial voice. Provide executive leadership for C.O.R.E., establishing a unified client coverage strategy that integrates cross‑business collaboration, prioritizes resources, and advances sustainable revenue growth through coordinated execution. Design, build, and lead a scalable, enterprise‑ready commercial organization focused on strategic leadership by establishing clear roles, decision rights, performance standards, and leadership accountability to drive disciplined execution and sustainable growth. Own client centered operating model, and governance for Global Investment Services, ensuring the structure, workflows, and forums enable effective management control, clear escalation paths, consistent decision‑making, and alignment across regions, products, and enterprise partners. Lead coordinated client coverage and growth initiatives across the enterprise and other U.S. Bank product lines, enabling cross‑sell, solution integration, and enterprise client strategies. Partner closely with Product, Operations, Risk, Legal, Finance, Technology, and Marketing to ensure effective execution, strong client experience, and risk‑aligned growth. Minimum qualifications are outlined below:
Global executive role with enterprise-wide commercial accountability. Oversight of distributed sales, relationship, and support teams. Operates within a matrixed, highly regulated financial services environment. Regular interaction with senior leaders, executive clients, and external partners. Balances growth and organizational scale objectives with strong governance, compliance, and risk management to ensure sustainable, well‑controlled expansion. Leveling Guide Requirements 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in institutional financial services or investment services. Demonstrated success leading global or multi‑product client coverage organizations and driving sustainable revenue growth. The successful candidate will combine strong product expertise, excellent client relationship skills, and an operationally minded approach to delivering solutions and supporting franchise growth. Deep understanding of institutional client needs, servicing models, and buying behaviors. Strong executive presence and ability to influence senior stakeholders. Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
