About Us Join a dedicated not-for-profit community agency that advocates for racial, social, and economic justice. We provide essential services—spanning early childhood education, workforce development, and housing programs—to over 32,000 individuals and families across the Greater Boston and South Shore communities. Position Overview Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Fiscal Manager leads the day-to-day operations of our fiscal office. This essential role manages the General Ledger, oversees Accounts Payable and Receivable, and ensures all financial records comply with GAAP and grant regulations.
Key Responsibilities Financial & Team Leadership:
Manage the fiscal office's daily operations, provide staff guidance, and lead the month-end closing process.
Budgeting & Reporting:
Prepare monthly budget-versus-actual reports and analyze results with program managers to control costs and maximize funding.
Compliance & Allocation:
Oversee payroll and cost allocations to ensure accurate distribution across contracts and budgets.
Grant Management:
Assist the CFO in preparing budgets, reports, and applications for various funding sources and grants.
Policy Implementation:
Maintain and improve written fiscal policies, procedures, and accounting systems.
Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (Required).
Experience:
5+ years of accounting experience, with strong hands-on knowledge of not-for-profit accounting, GAAP, and state/federal grant compliance.
Technical Skills:
High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and BlackBaud accounting software.

Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and organized with strong communication and leadership abilities.
