Job Description

An organization in the manufacturing/operational sector is seeking a hands-on Interim Accounting Manager / Senior Accountant to stabilize and lead core accounting processes during a critical audit cycle. This role offers immediate ownership of month-end close, audit coordination, and process improvement within a highly manual environment. Client Details Our client is a global organization operating in a manufacturing-led, operationally complex environment with cross-border finance functions. The business is evolving its structure and processes, offering an opportunity to bring rigor, consistency, and improved financial discipline to a developing finance function. Description Core Accounting & Close Own and deliver month-end close across multiple entities Prepare and review journals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules Ensure accuracy of P&L and balance sheet reporting Audit & Compliance Act as primary contact for external auditors Support audit readiness and year-end requirements Prepare documentation and resolve audit queries Cash Flow & AR Support Improve visibility into cash flow and working capital Partner with AR to strengthen collections and aging follow-up Drive accountability and structure across outstanding balances Payroll Oversight Review and approve payroll processed by an external provider Ensure payroll accuracy, completeness, and compliance Act as final sign-off for payroll prior to release Team Leadership Provide hands-on support to accounting, AR, and AP teams Coordinate activity to meet tight deadlines Improve team organization and output in a lean structure Process Improvement & Structure Standardize close timelines, reconciliations, and documentation Identify gaps and implement practical process improvements Enhance reporting consistency in a manual, Excel-driven environment Profile 5-10+ years' experience at Senior Accountant / Accounting Manager level Proven ownership of month-end close and reconciliations Experience in manufacturing, logistics, or operational environments preferred Strong audit exposure and ability to manage external auditors Experience reviewing and approving payroll (outsourced model) Comfortable working in under-structured, evolving environments Demonstrated ability to implement processes and drive improvements Strong Excel skills and ERP exposure (QAD advantageous) Collaborative, hands-on, and solution-oriented mindset Job Offer 12-month contract with potential for extension or permanence Immediate start with high visibility to global stakeholders Opportunity to make a tangible impact on finance operations Exposure to international finance teams and leadership Autonomy to shape processes and improve ways of working MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
